Kerosene lamps were the most common type of lamp in Sweden from the late 19th century and well into the 20th century, when electric light became widespread. Our kerosene lamps are light sources designed to illuminate places where there is no electricity. Such as on small boats, in holiday homes and on balconies/patios. Kerosene lamps can also be used during power outages as they provide very good light.
In the event of a crisis, it is recommended to have a kerosene lamp at home. Source: Civil Defence Association
