The wick is made of fibreglass and does not need to be replaced; it only conducts the lamp oil and therefore does not produce any soot or smoke like ordinary tea lights. Fill the glass with lamp oil up to 3/4 full. A small funnel is available for purchase. Completely odourless lamp oils that give a clear, fine flame are available for purchase, as well as a small funnel for easier refilling. The new wick system has been improved and meets the requirements of NEN – ISO – 14059. This means that it has a child safety lock that requires two independent movements to open and has a wick guard.
